All residents wishing to get on St.Joseph’s Villa’s wait list must contact the Manitoulin-Sudbury Community Care Access Center at (705)522-3461 or (800)461-2919.
All persons seeking admission to St.Joseph’s Villa must:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Have valid health insurance.
- Be unable to have their needs met in their existing residence by community or other services.
- Have needs that may be appropriately served by St. Joseph’s Villa.
PROCEDURE
- The person seeking admission and/or representative (e.g., power of attorney) must first contact the Manitoulin-Sudbury Community Care Access Centre (see contact information below).
- If a person is deemed eligible by the Manitoulin-Sudbury Community Care Access Centre, the person and/or representative is asked to select three facilities of their choice in the Manitoulin-Sudbury area, of which St. Joseph’s Villa can be one.
- During the selection process, the person and/or representative may wish to tour the Villa. Public tours are conducted every Tuesday at 1:00pm.
- When a suitable room becomes available at St. Joseph’s Villa, the person will receive a bed offer from the Manitoulin-Sudbury Community Care Access Centre. The person and/or representative may view the specific room as part of the decision-making process.
- If the person and/or representative accepts the bed, then the Manitoulin-Sudbury Community Care Access Centre coordinates the details of admission.

UPON ADMISSION
Each resident’s health and social history information is
collected and assessed by members of our multidisciplinary care team
in order to develop a plan of care for the resident.
Care plan meetings for each resident are held shortly
after admission, yearly and as required.
